As a former Mrs. Colorado-America 1996, Amy Nugent has enjoyed collecting crown pins and crown collectibles over the years. After diligently searching for crown-themed gifts for all her pageant friends, she decided to open Crown Chic Boutique. Not only does she hope to fulfill the shopping desires of queens and princesses of all ages, but she will also offer unique, whimsical , one-of-a-kind gifts for all.
With Crown Chic Boutique, she combines her marketing background with a favorite hobby while fulfilling her dream of owning her own business. So pageant chicks, closet queens and crown lovers unite! Amy has searched the world over for you!
After graduating from Colorado State University, Amy returned to her first love – music. She has worked as a professional vocalist in the Denver area for 22 years. In 1999, she released her first CD entitled “Grateful Heart”, showcasing her own music and raising funds for The Children’s Hospital Cancer Center. In that same year, Amy was presented the 1999 Townes Van Zandt award for outstanding songwriting by the Dallas Songwriters’ Association and was a finalist in the Unisong International Song Contest and the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest.
Her music has been featured on the nationally syndicated “I Write The Songs” radio show, local radio and television stations. Her original song ” It’s A Child’s World” was also featured in promotional videos for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 1999-2000. Amy has also had the honor of performing the National Anthem for the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos.
Crown Chic Boutique was presented the 2010 Sponsor of the Year award for the Mrs. Colorado-America Pageant. And, in 2011, Amy was featured in Supermodels Unlimited magazine “Most Beautiful Powerhouses” issue showcasing pageant industry professionals and business owners. Amy continues to work in studio sessions, writes music from her home and stays busy raising three children, and, running Crown Chic Boutique!
